According to the Governor, beginning May 7, all Montana schools have the option to bring students and staff back into the classroom according to phase one of the Governors plan to reopen the state released on (4/21/2020) Wednesday.
The Governor also noted during his statement that as a result of the closures across the state over the past weeks, Montana has among the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in the nation. Montana also has the lowest number of hospitalizations, per capita, in the nation.
As a result of the Governor’s announcement, Great Falls Public Schools has decided to launch an online poll/survey that would allow for the public to have a voice as to whether or not it wishes the schools to be reopened for the month of May.
There will be a School Board work session the 27th to discuss what options might be available regarding a possible reopening of the schools but no formal action will be taken until the Board of Trustees present their vote on May 4.
A public portal to vote has been launched by Great Falls Public Schools and it can be found here: (fill out the survey by noon, April 27 regarding school closure/opening)
Here’s your chance to provide input as to whether or not you might be willing, or unwilling to allow the reopening of our schools in Great Falls.
